SUPERIOR -- The Eau Claire North girls basketball team opened tournament play with a goose egg -- in Superior's half of the boxscore -- as the Huskies cruised to a 63-27 victory in a regional semifinal of the WIAA Division 1 Menomonie Sectional.

North's victory was its 13th straight and set up a showdown with Eau Claire Memorial at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Larissa Parr scored 17 points, Anne Connell 11, and Kricket Whyte and Amanda Eisold 10 each for the Huskies (19-2), who led 13-0 after the first quarter and 29-10 at halftime.

Lany Lyons led the Spartans (8-13) with nine points.
