RIVER
FALLS -- Just about the time River Falls was feeling delirious,
the Eau Claire North girls basketball team got serious. Anne
Connell and Kricket Whyte scored seven points apiece during
a dominating third quarter for the Huskies as they erased
a seven-point halftime deficit and cruised to a 52-32 victory. Larissa
Parr paced the Big Rivers Conference-leading Huskies (10-1,
15-2) with 15 points, followed by Lindsey Rongstad with
11, Connell 10 and Whyte nine. River
Falls' Abigail Brendum scored 10 of her team-high 12 points
in the second quarter, and the Wildcats roared into the
lockerroom at halftime with a 24-17 lead. Rongstad
added six points and Parr four in the third period as the
Huskies turned up the tempo to pull away from the upset-minded
Wildcats (2-9, 4-12). EAU
