NEW RICHMOND -- Eau Claire North left no room for mistakes Thursday night as it wrapped up a share of the Big Rivers Conference girls basketball championship.

The Huskies outscored New Richmond 22-1 in the first quarter and never looked back en route to a 58-21 victory.

Kricket Whyte scored 13 points, Anne Connell 12 and Larissa Parr 10 in a balanced attack for the Huskies (12-1, 17-2), who led 36-4 at halftime in winning their 11th straight game.

Erin Timm hit two 3-pointers and led the Tigers (0-13, 0-19) with six points.

The Big Rivers title is the first for North since the 1993-94 season and marked the first time Hudson didn't gain the crown outright since 1994-95.

The Huskies have a chance to gain sole possession of the BRC title with a win tonight over Menomonie (5-8, 7-11) at the Doghouse. Should North lose, the winner of tonight's game between Eau Claire Memorial (11-2, 17-2) and Hudson (11-2, 15-4) will earn a share of first place.

Memorial last gained a share of the BRC title in 1992-93, when it tied North for first place.

The game between the Old Abes and the Raiders is scheduled for 7:30 in Hudson. North's game against Menomonie also is slated for 7:30.
