Steve Beaudry All-Big Rivers Ott, Parr share league honor By Leader-Telegram staff Angie Ott of Chippewa Falls and Larissa Parr of Eau Claire North tied for girls basketball player-of-the-year honors in the Big Rivers Conference. They headed the All-BRC team, which was selected by conference coaches. Ott and Parr are joined on the first team by Joanna Leafblad of Eau Claire Memorial, Jackie Dummer of Menomonie and Annie Nelson of Hudson. Nelson is the only junior on the first team. The others are seniors. Parr, a 6-foot forward, led North to an undisputed league championship as the Huskies went 13-1 in BRC play. They ended the season 19-3, beating Superior in the WIAA state-tournament playoffs regional semifinals before being upset in the regional finals by Eau Claire Memorial. Ott, a 6-foot guard, led Chippewa Falls to a fourth-place finish in the BRC. The Cardinals went 8-6 in conference play and 14-8 overall. They beat Rice Lake in the first round of the WIAA state-tournament playoffs before losing to Menomonie in the regional finals.
