Zorn braces for Showcase

UW-Eau Claire’s Zorn Arena will be the sight for 10 high school girls and college women’s basketball games on Friday and Saturday.

Eau Claire Memorial, Eau Claire North and Durand each are scheduled to play two games, and UW-Eau Claire will conduct a four-team tournament in the annual Thanksgiving Showcase.

Friday at 11:30 a.m., Memorial is set to open the Showcase against Blaine, Minn. Games pitting North against Sussex Hamilton and Durand versus Port Washington are to follow, with 25-minute intervals between games.

At 5:30 on Friday, UW-Eau Claire is slated to play Northland College, followed by Mount Mercy College taking on Carroll College.

Saturday, the colleges are to begin the schedule with the third-place game at noon followed by the championship game. At 5 p.m., Blaine is to play Durand, followed by Port Washington taking on North and Sussex Hamilton taking on Memorial.
