Win helps Huskies keep pace with Abes

RIVER FALLS -- Eau Claire North made sure it didn’t lose any ground in the Big Rivers Conference standings by routing River Falls 81-43 in a girls basketball game Tuesday night.

The Huskies (3-1, 7-2) maintained a share of second place with Eau Claire Memorial (3-1, 7-1), which beat Menomonie 47-33 in the Old Abes’ gym.

Scooter Aspen led all players with 20 points for the Huskies, who led 43-19 at halftime. Aspen hit eight of 15 shots from the field, including 2-for-4 shooting on 3-pointers.

Gretchen Shroer had a strong showing inside for North, hitting seven of eight shots and scoring 14 points off the bench. Larissa Parr added 12 points for the Huskies.

River Falls (1-3, 5-3) was held to 38-percent shooting from the field. Ashley Magee led the Wildcats with 15 points.
