Robinson gives Huskies a lift

LA CROSSE -- Nicki Robinson spent the better part of four quarters searching for her shot last Friday night.

On Tuesday night, the Eau Claire North senior guard found it earlier and more often. Twelve times, in fact.

Robinson was 7-for-11 shooting from the field and 5-for-8 from the free-throw line en route to a game-high 19 points Tuesday in the Huskies’ 69-54 nonconference victory over La Crosse Central.

In North’s 49-46 win over Eau Claire Memorial Friday, Robinson converted just one of her first eight field-goal attempts -- and then hit the game-winning shot with 65 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

Nine of Robinson’s points Tuesday came in the first quarter, helping the Huskies (5-1) bolt to a 19-10 lead. Larissa Parr had 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for North, which led 35-19 at halftime and 54-30 entering the fourth quarter.

Megan Curtis scored 16 points and Jessie Hansen 14 for La Crosse Central (1-5).

The Huskies play host to Hudson (4-1) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in a battle for first place in the Big Rivers Conference.
