Johnson, Parr help Huskies to big win

An 8-0 run during a six-minute stretch of the third quarter and some big play
by some big people helped lift Eau Claire North to a 48-33 high school girls
basketball victory over Menomonie Friday night at the Doghouse.
The game opened the Big Rivers Conference season for both teams, which are
favored to challenge three-time defending champion Hudson for the title.
Frontliners Larissa Parr and Chandra Johnson led the Huskies with 12 points
apiece. Johnson grabbed 11 rebounds while Parr finished with 10.
Scooter Aspen scored six points and dished off seven assists for the Huskies.
North expanded a 26-22 lead to 34-22 with its third-quarter run. Menomonie was
held scoreless from the 7:25 mark to the 1:12 mark of the period.
The game was tied at 18 midway through the second quarter until North made its
first decisive run of the game and took a 26-20 lead into halftime.
