Huskies Lose to Hudson in 2002 WIAA Sectionals. (3/1/02.)
Chippewa Falls, WI -- Hudson ended North's season Friday in Chippewa Falls.
Amanda Eisold lead the Huskies with 14 points. This was the third time this season that the Huskies have lost to Hudson. Coach Sippel believes that Hudson is the best team in the state.
North Advances to Sectionals with Win Over the Old Abes. (2/23/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- After losing twice to the Eau Claire Memorial Old Abes during the regular season the Huskies were gunning to avenge those losses in the WIAA Basketball Tournament at Memorial on Saturday night. North did just that .. in a 50-34 win over Memorial. The win is North's 8 in the last 9 games. Amanda Eisold lead Husky scoring with 15. Anne Connell scored 10 while Michelle Burns and Heather Dekan each scored 8 points for the Huskies.
Huskies Open Tournament by Defeating Chippewa Falls. (2/19/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- The Eau Claire North Huskies defeated the Chippewa Falls Cardinals 51-34 to open the WIAA basketball tournment. Anne Connell and Michelle Burns each scored 12 points to lead the North attack.
North Wins Regular Season Finale. (2/15/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- The Huskies won their final regular season game over New Richmond 62-46 at the Doghouse on Friday. The win puts North in 3rd place in the final Big Rivers Standings. Junior Amanda Eisold, who is averaging over 17 points per game on the season, lead Husky scoring once again with 20 points in only 12 minutes of playing time. Sophomore Heather Dekan added 12 points.
North Stomps 3rd-ranked Logan. (2/12/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- La Crosse Logan came into Tuesday's game ranked third in the state with an 18-0 record, but the Huskies dominated the Rangers while winning 64-42. North raced to a 17-8 first quarter lead and never looked back. Junior Amanda Eisold lead Husky scoring with 19 and sophomore Heather Dekan added 11.
Old Abes Squeak by Huskies. (2/9/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- North lead Memorial 45-41 with just over a minute remaining in the game, but failed to hold the lead and lost 45-46. Amanda Eisold lead Husky scoring with 19 and she also pulled down 8 rebounds. Michelle Burns added 10 points and Anne Connell 8.
Huskies Get By Menomonie. (2/7/02.)
Eau Claire, WI -- The Huskies overcame a close game with Menomonie and pulled away in the fouth quarter to win 32-25. The win was North's fourth in a row. The game was close throughout .. being tied at half-time, and with North leading my 2 at the end of 3 quarters. Anne Connell and Amanda Eisold both scored 8 to lead North.
North Seeded Third. (2/3/02.)
Chippewa Falls, WI -- The Huskies have been seeded third in the Chippewa Falls section of the WIAA Marshfield Sectional. North will host their first tournament game against Chippewa Falls on February 19. Hudson is seeded first in the Chippewa Falls bracket.
Huskies Win at Buzzer. (1/05/02.)
Menomonie, WI -- Sophomore Heather Dekan, who has not played for several games because of an illness, hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Huskies to a 34-31 win over Menomonie. North trailed 29-31 with under 2 minutes left, but managed to tie the game on a rebound and put back. North then held the ball for the final shot with Dekan draining the 3 for the win.
